When Victoria Napoleon attended a Mini First Aid class for the first time, she made sure her Mum came with her. As her Mum would be looking after her one year old son Charlie when she went back to work, Victoria wanted her to be confident in basic and emergency first aid.
Victoria was so inspired by her Mini First Aid class, she actually decided to become a trainer herself and has since set up Mini First Aid Teesside. Victoria believes that it is vital for anyone looking after young children to learn first aid. She says:
“I believe learning first aid is so important, especially for those caring for babies and children on a day to day basis. I wanted my Mum to have these skills as she was going to be looking after Charlie when I returned to work. I believe every carer, parent or grandparent should know these lifesaving skills.”
As a community mental health nurse, Victoria has experience in dealing with a variety of first aid situations. Victoria is fully qualified in paediatric first aid and is keen to pass on these vital skills across her local community in Teesside. Victoria adds:
“I want to make sure that anyone caring for a baby and child is confident in knowing what to do in an emergency situation. Mini First Aid is all about delivering informative classes in a fun and relaxed way.”
Mini First Aid Teesside offers 2 hour baby & toddler first aid classes for small groups of parents and carers. Classes are friendly but informative and cover choking, basic life support, dealing with burns, breaks and bumps, febrile seizures & meningitis awareness. A class costs £20 per person.
